....and not the disco or
Bieber kind. Reese has been fighting a high fever for days now. It started early Saturday morning and by Sunday was as high as 104. So scary. Even alternating doses of Motrin and Tylenol would only take it down to the 100 range.
I finally gave in and took her to the doctor yesterday. Of course by the time we got to her appointment her fever was down to 99. I kind of figured that making the appointment and going in would do the trick as it usually does. They did both a strep and a flu test while we were there and both came back negative. Apparently the fever is just a symptom of a nasty virus going around. Most people have it for somewhere around 5 days.
I thought yesterday was the last day when she got through most of it without spiking a fever. Unfortunately Reese gave us a midnight wake up call last night and the 102 fever was back. We have her back to normal again this afternoon. After five days of being cooped up in the house I know she is as ready to get back to school as I am. Cabin fever is an
understatement at this point. I'll be lucky if I have a single hair left on my head after today.
This pretty much sums up the past few days:
my poor baby girl... those pictures make me sad!
ReplyDeletepoor sweet thing. Glad she's feeling better now, she looks miserable. And holy snow batman! You're experiencing a colder winter than we are in Belgium. I'm jealous of the snow though, I would be out playing in it too! Stay warm and cozy!
