Reese Ringin' It In

Reese's New Years Eve party was a huge hit. The girls started with a craft. They each decorated the first letter of their name. The cutie pies (minus one who was a little late and minus another who couldn't make it): The food was another hit. They had peanut butter quesadillas, pigs-in-a-blanket, the strawberry mice, and "kiddie sushi" (pickles wrapped in cream cheese and ham/salami): No idea where she gets it (even though Kevin swears he has similar pictures of me from past New Years Eve parties): They were super excited for the countdown.... Cheers!: Confetti poppers: Dance party USA: They were sweet enough to include Talan. And quit judging me. He LIKES his PJs!: Moving on to the coloring: Overall, it was a super fun afternoon! Happy New Year!

Capturing FeeLENS

I am so in love with our new camera. I have been snapping the patootie out of pictures. Here are a few of my favorites from today. My techno savvy kiddos: Reese spent some time designing the bag she got from Aunt Jill & Uncle Nemo. It turned out super cute!: And of course when Talan saw Reese posing he had to get in on that action: I love these faces: That's not dirt on Talan's face, it's chocolate. I spent this evening prepping some cute kid apps for tomorrow: What is happening tomorrow, you ask? Reese asked if she could have a play date with a couple of friends. She couldn't whittle her list down from five and fortunately for her someone must have slipped me a crazy pill today because I agreed to it.....and then the simple play date turned into a New Years Eve party. So now I have six 6-year-old girls to entertain for two hours. They are counting down the new year at noon in place of midnight. The countdown coupled with snacks and crafts should make for a fun-filled afternoon. Kevin and I got a babysitter for tomorrow night so we're going out to a fancy dinner with another couple. I'm looking so forward to it! Happy new years eve eve y'all!!

Time Out

Dear Grandma & Grandad, Why did you have to send that egg timer for Mom and Dad? Today they came up with a really terrible idea. They decided that I deserved a time-out and I had to sit there until I heard the "bing". I really didn't think coloring on the coffee table or pulling Reese's hair was a big deal. Please call them and tell them to send it back. Love, Talan

Snappin' Some Shots

We finally invested in a new camera and I'm thrilled to death. In the span of 2 hours I'd already snapped over 100. I love it! Here are a few of my favorites:

Curious Tal

Uncle Keith made Talan an awesome t-shirt for Christmas. So cute! The kids are having a blast with all of their new toys and gifts. It's freezing cold outside so we made the best of spending yesterday indoors. Reese took to the basement and has been perfecting her rollerblading skills. She's getting really good! (nice photo bomb Talan!)

Christmas Day

Kevin and I woke up bright and early on Christmas morning, excited to get the day started. We waited as long as we could for the kids to wake up but there wasn't a peep. We snuck downstairs to take a look at the loot: Reese wrote a letter to Santa but it was written in pencil and the photo didn't turn out. Here's what it said: Dear Santa, Please be careful outside it’s groose wet and it could rain or snow. I thought you would be hungry so I thought you wanted cookies and a corot for your raindeers. You must be cold with wet so I got your warm milk. I’m very happy you came. Thank you, from Reese. (Could you please right back!) Santa did write back! We waited until 6:45 and then couldn't stand it any longer so we went into Reese's room and woke her up. Reese had about 15 minutes to herself before we went in and got little man. And then we tore into the gifts: There were clear favorites amongst the pile of gifts this year. For Reese it was her American Girl doll and for Talan it was his Why-Writer (from the show "Super Why") Monkey bread on Christmas morning is a tradition in our family. I made it.... And the kids ate it.... Talan ate about 1/3 of it himself. That, folks, is equivalent to about 10 biscuits (plus sugar and butter). Later that afternoon we headed over to the Heller household for a fantastic Christmas dinner. The food was amazing (crab & corn bisque, roast, potato souffle, asparagus, bread pudding, and creme brulee) but the company was even better. A merry Christmas indeed.
