Halloween 2011

We had an action packed Halloween this year.  Rather than send Reese to school with lunch, we told her that Kevin would hand deliver it.  So I spent the morning making up a "spooktastic" menu for her.

Of course Talan was treated to the same lunch.  Soon after we rushed out the door so that we could catch the annual parade at the school.  Talan was happy to pose for a photo.

There she is!

Kevin and Talan headed home while I stayed to help out at the Halloween party at school.  It's always such chaos.  I have so much respect for those teachers.  I can't keep control of my small groups of six so how they do it with a class full is impressive.

We rushed home to freshen up before heading over to a neighbor's house for our annual pre-trick-or-treating gathering.  Luckily I was able to snap a couple of photos before we left.  I never did find Talan's pumpkin costume so we recycled the spider from two years ago.

This year there was a bouncy house at the party.  The kids were lucky to get some time in there before the rest of the 156 kids showed up and started getting rowdy.

They filled up on sugar....because they all needed sugar before bringing home a hundred more pounds of sugar.  Makes sense, doesn't it?

This year I couldn't even get far enough back in the crowd to get the entire group of kids in the photo.  This is the best I could do before they all went running for the houses.

A rare family photo opp:

Talan was SO excited to trick-or-treat this year.  It only took a couple of houses before he got the hang of it.  His sister was even nice enough to wait for him for the last half of the night so that they could have some time together.

Finally sick of the paparazzi:

Another great year.  And now to start planning our costumes for next year.....
