Love For Leo

I met Shannon ("Carr") while living in Seattle.  We met at work and became close friends.  She was one of my two go-to people while living there.  Such an amazing friend and person.  She met Scott, who is just as wonderful, five years ago, they fell madly in love and got married and along came baby Leo (June of this year). 

The Walker family flew into town last night.  Unfortunately, Scott's grandfather passed away so they aren't here under good circumstances but so glad to have had the opportunity to see them while they are here.  They drove over from Chicago and had lunch with us this afternoon. 

Shannon has always been "Auntie Shan-Ann" to Reese.  She's been in her life from day one.  Literally day one.  She visited us in the hospital just a few hours after she was born.  I got to see Shannon last year when I went to Seattle for a visit but it has been over 4 years since she'd seen Reese and she'd never met Talan.  That said, I went and checked Reese out of school this afternoon so that she could have lunch with us.  After lunch I took her back and Talan and I got to spend another hour with Scott, Shannon, and Leo.  Leo is honest to God one of the most beautiful babies I've ever laid eyes on.  Check out those lashes!

Talan isn't the jealous type so I was able to hold and love on Leo quite a bit.  Such a little sweetheart! 

I'm bummed that I didn't get any pictures at lunch, while Reese was with us.  Hopefully it won't be so long between visits from here.  I love that family!
