Raising Funds

Much of the month of May was completely consumed by a fundraiser I organized for Comfort Zone Camp.  I tried raising the funds by asking family and friends for donations.  Everyone was beyond generous but I set my goal high and needed to find another way to raise the money.  Our neighborhood does monthly Bunco nights so that seemed like the easiest way to raise money - hold a Bunco night and make it a fundraiser.  

I had four weeks to solicit as many goods and services as I could so that we could raffle off baskets at the event.  I was so overwhelmed by the generosity of those in our community who were more than willing to donate.  I heard "no" much more than "yes" so it took a lot of effort but we really pulled together some amazing prize packages.  My house was a wreck for weeks while I was organizing everything.   

 In the end, it was all worth it.  The event was a huge success.  We were able to make enough money to send 6 kids to camp in that one night and all 3 of us who signed up for the race exceeded our fundraising goals.
