This weekend was both good and bad. Good because we had a great time as a family and really enjoyed the extended weekend. Bad because I missed a very important event. One of my very best friends got married this weekend in Seattle. Carr, I wish I could have been there! Love you!!!
We had a really nice weekend. On Saturday we went to a party in the neighborhood and had a blast. On Sunday we were treated to a fantastic meal, Shrimp Etouffee, compliments of the Heller family. The girls played together and we were able to relax and enjoy the delicious dinner. Today we went into downtown Naperville for the annual Last Fling parade and festival. Reese had a ball with her friends and came home with a ton of candy, knick knacks, and flyers.
I was cracking up watching how excited these kids got over every little thing someone handed them! Seriously, I think Reese nearly hyperventilated when a random lady handed her a Curves flyer. And when the fly swatter guy walked by? Fuggetaboutit. You think that's weird? Well between Kevin, Reese, & I we caught 4 loaves of bread! This was not your ordinary parade folks!
Talan did great and perked up every time a marching band walked by. He loved the drums.
But not enough to stay awake for more than an hour of them:
After the parade we went to the festival where they had food, games, and rides. The dragon roller coaster was a huge hit! Heather took this picture - definitely the best of the day:
Good times! We got to the parade early to make sure we could get a good spot. Reese brought her iPod (our cooler has speakers that you can plug it in to) and was jamming tunes while we waited. She decided to turn the blanket into her stage and started dancing and Kevin got a little clip of it. The girl is a HAM! There were hundreds of people sitting along the street - at least half of which were watching. There is not a shy bone in her body. I wish I had her confidence!
Thanks for reading :)
OMG! Is this a routine from her music camp this summer or from a video? This girl loves to dance that is for sure! Love it!
