Shedd Some Light

Reese had a(nother) school day off last week on Friday. Normally we'd hang around the house but this time I was determined to motivate. We packed up and headed into downtown Chicago and visited Shedd Aquarium. Kevin had a lull in his workload allowing him to come with us. When we lived in Seattle I had a membership to both the zoo and aquarium so we visited often. By the time Reese was Talan's age she had been at least a half dozen times. Poor deprived Talan. We got there right as they were opening so we beat the rush. When we left the line to get in was wrapped around the building. We missed the dolphin show because we didn't want to wait an additional hour for it but we saw a lot. My favorite part of our day was lunch (go figure). We got to the cafe early, around 11, and it was empty so we grabbed a window table and enjoyed the beautiful view. We brought our own lunch so we made our sandwiches and kicked up our feet, taking it all in.
We were on the road and headed home by noon so Kevin had half of the day to work. The rest of our weekend was spent relaxing. Reese had a birthday party on Saturday (like she does just about every weekend) but other than that we laid low. Our good camera is a beast. It's so old that it takes film! Reese couldn't figure it out and was very annoyed that it didn't have a preview screen. We actually had a hard time finding film! Hopefully they don't stop selling it anytime soon. We'd love to replace it with a digital version but that's just not in the cards now or anytime soon. I love the quality of the photos it takes. Here are a few from the last roll:
So pretty :)
