Almost Over the Hill

Today is the 37th anniversary of the day Kevin's Mama birthed him. I thank God for that day! We started celebrating last night in the way of dinner & cake with friends. We were expecting 8 adults and 7 kids so I cooked all day on Friday. 3 adults and 3 kids got sick and cancelled last minute and because I cooked enough for a small army we ended up with a ton of food. I made Kevin his favorite, butter cake with chocolate icing: This morning he slept in (probably the best birthday gift ever) and when he got up we opened gifts and laid around the house until lunchtime: A new sushi restaurant opened up down the street so that's where we went to lunch per Kevin's request: With full stomachs we headed out to do a little shopping and then it was time to enjoy the outdoors. It's finally crept out of the 30's and into the mid 40's so we decided to spend some time at the local park. Talan fell asleep in the car so I ended up staying with him while Reese & Kevin ran off to enjoy it: It's all fun and games until someone does a face plant in the mud: Talan missed the park today but we did sneak over on Thursday afternoon. I was out for a walk and decided to hit the park with him instead, realizing that he has never been before. He had a blast on the swing but it was still a little too chilly too stay out for long. We're hoping that the temperatures continue to rise. I have sure missed the sunshine!!! Tonight a friend of ours is coming over to watch the kids so that we can go out to dinner. We're looking so forward to a night out! Happy birthday to my best friend, the best father, the best husband, and the love of my life!!!! I love you!
