Reese-a-mania

Reese will be turning six at the end of this month. Because I see her every day it's sometimes hard to notice changes until I compare her to an old picture or video. Lately, I feel like she will wake up in the morning, come down the stairs, and she all of the sudden looks more like a young lady than she does a little girl. This week I was just blown away at how grown up she looked. So blown away that I had to snap a couple of pictures.
This week she was selected by her teacher to be the Star Reader. Everyone in her class will get the opportunity but she was very proud to have been the first one picked. She picked out a book from her collection and read it to the class. Very exciting. Her teacher loves to take pictures and often sends them home with the kids. This is one that she sent home last week. She and Reese were wearing matching sweaters and another teacher had on one similar. Reese was so excited that she "matched" Ms. Sheley. The school has a program called Art Awareness. There are several artists featured and each month the parents take turns volunteering to come in and present on one of them. Kevin volunteered and had me to everything for him so that he could take credit for it did a presentation on Andy Warhol. He came into the classroom with a crazy wig, pretending to be Andy Warhol. That wig was a brilliant idea. I'm impressed that Kevin liked my idea and wore the wig that I went all over town looking for thought of that. The kids were so excited! He had them help put together a pop art project using pictures of all of the kids and they all made their own Campbell's soup labels. Reese was so surprised to see him in her classroom. Kevin came home dripping with sweat and looking like he ran a marathon. 30 minutes in that classroom will wear you out for sure!
