P'jammin Party!

I'm happy to report that the party was a success! The girls had a blast and I'm still alive at the end of it all. Yesterday wasn't her real birthday but we decided that we were going to pretend like it was being that we will be out of town for the real thing....and we were celebrating it with all of her friends anyway. So the night before, I made sure she had something fun to wake up to: She was so excited to come down the stairs the next morning!
We were dressed and out of the house by 8am. First stop was breakfast at the Pancake Cafe.
We had a delicious breakfast! Afterwards Nana & Papa took Reese to do a little birthday shopping so that we could head back to the house. I had a lot of decorating to do. The color scheme, as you'll notice, was pink, green & purple:
Reese was so excited to see it all put together. This is a shot of the main table, set to look like a bed:
We also decorated the basement with lights and tons of balloons:
The gift bags:
When Reese got home from, we played beauty shop. She loves to have her hair washed in the kitchen sink and requested that I blow it dry straight. I'm a huge fan of her curls but it's her (almost) birthday so it was her choice:
After her hair she got dressed in her new nightgown and it was time to wait for the guests to arrive!
I love this shot. Notice the snow....yes, it snowed. All day. First day of Spring? Could have fooled me.
Finally the girls began to pile in. First stop? Nails!!!
Next up? Tattoos:
Two of the sweetest 5th grade girls you'll ever met, Katie & Emily, came over to help me with the party. They taught the girls a super cute dance to a Miley Cyrus song:
After the dancing it was time to lay out the sleeping bags, put in a sleepover movie, and have some pizza:
When they finished eating we played a fun life-sized board game:
It was getting close to end time so we headed back upstairs for the ice cream sundae bar:
I think they all had a great time.
I had fun, too, but I am SO glad that this was not the real deal. I got chewed up and spit out by 14 girls and was completely exhausted at the end of it all. I had the help of Kevin, my parents, and Emily & Katie and it was still a challenge to keep up with it all. I didn't get a group shot of them and also didn't get one of Reese blowing out her candles. Huge bummer.
The party was only two hours long so we saved the presents for afterwards.
I hope she had as much fun as I did. Happy (almost) birthday my sweet baby girl!
