Ribs -n- G'rents

Yesterday Kevin's parents arrived. Kevin's mom retired from her job at the elementary school she's been working at for years. Rather than send her gift, we waited to give it to her in person. Remember when we went to the pottery painting shop on Father's Day? We were there making part of Grandma's gift. We put together a little retirement survival kit. Part 1 were the dishes the kids made (because she'll need them for all of the cooking and dinner parties she'll now have time for): We also got her a book and crossword puzzles to kill some of her free time. Next up were gardening gloves and seeds to plant because that's exactly what retired Grandma's do, right? And last but not least, some Tylenol. That was for all of the headaches she's going to get....because Granddad is bound to give her a few! I kid!!!! Today was gorgeous. We decided to head over to the annual Rib Fest. Apparently Six Flags didn't get rid of Reese's urge to ride because she was very anxious to stand in the loooooong lines to take a turn. Talan chilled in the shade with some ice cream while we waited. He had a little leftover when Reese walked up but she wasn't quite prepared for how much had melted. We let Talan loose with Granddad to jam out to some tunes before packing up and heading home. The forecast is looking great for tomorrow so we're excited to take advantage of it and of our time with Kevin's 'rents.
