This morning we awoke to an answered prayer. The sun was shining and the skies were blue! Thank goodness because we had a fun day planned outdoors.
We got an early start this morning and headed into downtown Naperville for the annual "Bunny Hop". The retail stores hand out candy and other goodies to kids who visit with an Easter basket.
After filling up the baskets we headed home for some lunch, to dye some Easter eggs, and to get Talan down for a much needed nap.
A couple of hours later we packed up the car and were off again. This time to a baseball game. Reese earned a free ticket for reading again this year. Rather than participate in the parade, the kids opted to spend the pre-game hour tailgating. My kind of kids!
Although he doesn't look it in this picture, Talan was quite impressed by the spread; cookies, cupcakes, & cheetos (oh my!).
Once inside the stadium we found an empty row and hoped he would use it to run off some energy.
Reese was excited to watch the game and anxious to learn more about baseball now that she's signed up to play "coach pitch" softball.
And as if round one of junk-food-mania wasn't good enough, Talan threw some dipping dots into the mix.
We only made it to the 5th inning this year. Talan's sugar high turned into a tantrum and both kids were getting cold. Yes, the sun was out but it was still far from being a warm day. The wind didn't help.
