Talan had his one month well check this morning. He was 6 pounds 5 ounces at his last appointment exactly four weeks ago. Today he weighed in at 9 pounds, 8 ounces! He has gained more than 3 pounds and grew 2.25 inches. Did I not tell you how much he eats? I wasn't exaggerating! I looked back at my blog from when Reese was a baby. She was 9 pounds, 13 ounces at FOUR months! She was only 15 pounds, 15 ounces and 27 inches at a year. I'm so used to having a teensy tiny baby that I'm just in shock at how big he's getting and how quickly he is growing. I will tell you this; it has been so so so so nice to have an eater this time around. I love not having to worry about his weight. We were put through the ringer with Reese. They sent us to so many nutritionists/specialists and had her tested for so many things because she was small. I'm just glad that I can sit back and enjoy without worry this time around. There is no question as to whether or not Talan is getting enough to eat. If Reese isn't careful he is going to outweigh her soon! He's only got 20 pounds to go before he does!!!
I know that it seems like I'm always comparing my two kids. The only reason is that I'm just literally in shock at how different two babies that came from the same two parents can be. To give you an idea of why I keep bringing it up, here is a side-by-side comparison:

In pink is Reese at one month in a preemie sized onesie. Notice how her legs don't even fill it out! They are bean poles. Her arms and legs had not one single fold. They were sticks. And now for Talan's photo (he's not too happy....notice the sad little band aid from his shot today). He is the same age and in a 3 month sized onesie. Yep, he does just fine filling it out. Now do you get it?
I'd better go relax for a few minutes before he gets hungry again. I'm sure it won't be long! Thanks for reading.
That's how it was with Taylor and Nathan. Crazy! It's the same milk, you know?
