Reese is having a blast on her vacation. She's spent a lot of time at the park and has gotten in quite a bit of shopping. Yes folks, she already loves to shop. She called me yesterday and said "I really needed a new dress so first we went to Target. They didn't really have anything I liked so I told Nana that I wanted to go to Macy's. I love Macy's. Then we went to the food court to eat". She sounds so grown up all of the sudden. It's very cute and very scary all at once. I know she's getting spoiled rotten and has the undivided attention of her grandparents. I had a bunch of thing on my to-do list and accomplished not a single one of them yesterday. I ended up staying home and in my pajamas until 4pm. Talan has been on an up-every-two-hours kind of schedule for several days. Without Reese here and without a reason to be out of the house before 8am I pretty much crashed. I brought Talan into my room at 7am and we both drifted in and out of sleep for a few hours. He went down for an afternoon nap and I treated myself to a nice, long bath. I finally forced myself to get out and made it to the grocery store and to the library and then had a hair appointment last night. It felt like a waste of a day in some ways but I know I really needed it.
Today we ventured out to do some shopping. Moose man has grown out of almost everything in his closet so I had to get him some new threads. Shopping for a boy is so much harder. You have to walk through 90% of the store and the plethora of options in the girls to get to the 10% and slim pickings in the boys section. I did manage to find a few things, thankfully, but it wasn't as easy as it is to shop for Reese. Talan was a trooper through it all. Fortunately he, like his sister, can hang when it comes to being out and about.
Kevin and I are trying to take advantage of having some time to ourselves but it's been tough. He's super busy with work and trying to finish up a couple of reports before we leave on Thursday so he has been working late night. We were so tired on Sunday night that we ended up getting take out rather than venturing out to a restaurant. We did, however, enjoy it by candlelight. Last night it was champagne and catching up on Grey's Anatomy. We're looking forward to some R&R away from the house so next week will be nice.
I'll end this with a photo I took of Talan this morning. He just looks so handsome in this color! The pillow is from my Aunt Jill & Uncle David (aka Uncle Nemo) who dubbed him "T-Bone" before he was born (not knowing that his name would start with a "T"!). They have called me "Porkchop" since I was born and Reese is "Lambchop". Thanks for reading!

he is so freakin cute! love the nickname...we call my sister "steakbone", but her name came from a drunken 4th of july incident :)
