We had another "first" this week. Last night Reese & I took in her very first concert...Miley Cyrus. I got the tickets months ago so the excitement has been building up for quite a while. I honestly think I was much more excited than she was. Don't get me wrong, she
was excited, but maybe more excited to wear her "Miley outfit" than she was to see the actual concert. After fighting Chicago traffic (lame!) in the nasty rain, we finally got to United Center.

As you can imagine, it was packed full of very excited kids (and parents) all anxious to see their idol. Reese is normally in bed between 7 & 7:30 and the concert didn't even start until 7 so I was a bit nervous about the late night. We got to our seats and realized that her brother, Trace Cyrus, and his band were the opening act.

All I could think was that he was eating into the precious time between then and meltdown city! She was getting into the groove but let me know every few minutes that she was over Trace (whom she kept calling "Jackson" b/c that is Miley's brothers name on her TV show, Hannah Montanta) and was ready for Miley!

Our seats were obnoxiously good. We were on the floor one section back from the front and had aisle seats. She was able to poke out into the aisle to get a perfect view which came in handy being that she was easily one of the tiniest kids seated around us. Miley finally jumped on stage at 8pm.

Reese was in awe.

I have to say, she put on a darn good show! Here's Reese getting her Hoedown Throwdown on:

And waving goodbye to Miley towards the end of the show:
It is so much fun having a little girl to share in these moments. I hope her memories of last night are as special as mine. Last night was our night and it's going to be followed up by another exciting day. Yesterday was my day, today is Kevin's. This afternoon is her first soccer practice with daddy as her assistant coach. Never a dull moment up in here!!!
