Despite her protesting, we just couldn't send her out to there today. Instead, we loaded her up in the car and Kevin dropped her off at school. Would you believe that they send the kids out for recess all winter long? The temp has to be below zero before they will keep them inside. Because of today's windchill they got to stay in. When Kevin visited her at lunch he said that it was total chaos afterwards. Imagine 100 five-year-old kids all trying to zip up coats, put on gloves, hats, snow pants, etc. I volunteered in Reese's class yesterday and stayed afterwards to help them all get ready to go home. Holy cow! Seriously, her teacher is a saint. It was a mess up in there! Snow gear e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. The snow was blowing sideways so I was glad to help zip, tug, and pull up until they were all ready to brave the weather.
Talan is quickly phasing out of baby food. He'll eat it....until one of us sits down with a plate of "people food". At that point he refuses his food and screams until you share whatever it is you're eating. Last night for dinner he ate two chicken cakes and curried new potatoes (after 1/2 a jar of sweet potatoes). In the end, his dinner was bigger than Reese's. He ate two more chicken cakes for lunch (p.s. if you need a quick, easy, and delicious recipe, let me know and I'll send it your way).
What's that on his lips, you ask....why it's powdered sugar! I made another batch of pecan puffs this afternoon (and no we didn't give any away....we ate every single one ourselves. Don't judge!). It was late in the day, my nerves were shot, and I would have done pretty much anything to keep him from screaming. So there you have it. Talan screams, Talan gets powdered sugar.
brrr! thank goodness for bundle up snow gear! i'd love the chicken cake recipe...anything to help my little picky eater. sugar never did too much damage, right? ;) love his confectioner's sugar mustache. xxoo
