Why I Gained 5 Pounds in 5 Days

We had such a nice time over the holidays. My parents hosted us. My Gram, Uncle Chip, and Aunt Barbara all flew in from New Orleans, Josh from DC, Steve from Tally, Keith from Jacksonville, and the Brantons drove from Florida. The only thing missing was Jeff who couldn't get out of work. Although she was just a couple of weeks post-surgery, my Mom went way overboard. She's hard-headed, that one. Now I know where Josh, Jeff, and Steve get it. Thank goodness I was spared! The meal was amazing (the first, second, third, fourth, etc. times were all just as good). I did great with the six-meal-a-day plan suggested by health experts. Unfortunately, I didn't read the fine print...the part that said small portions. I ate like it was my last meal every time I sat down with a plate. I'm pregnant with a food baby. By the looks of it I'm about 4 months along. With triplets. Here's a shot of Talan gettin' his Ham on: Little dude pigged out on turkey, sweet potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, white beans, and whatever else he could con anyone into shovelling into his mouth. He's a machine! We had to keep him in his caged a majorit of the time but as you can see he didn't seem to mind it:
It was so wonderful to watch the kids with "Mootsie":
How long before this sibling love fest turns into sibling rivalry?
Uncle Josh was rooting for the Gators on Saturday and wanted to be sure that he bought shirts for the kids before Uncle Steve...who is an FSU fan.
While I loved spending time with family and being all together, I am so happy to stay put for Christmas. Traveling with two kids is not easy. We rolled into the airport with 3 suitcases, 2 carseats, a stroller, a boppy pillow, a carry-on, a laptop, and a diaper bag. We were totally "those people". You know, the ones who hold up security for a half hour, block the aisle in the plane, have the screaming baby who is up 5 hours past his bedtime. Yep, that's us. By the time I get to my seat, I'm sweating like Tiger Woods in his next press conference. Talan will be 10 months old on Saturday. My poor Christmas tree will never survive. He eats carpet fibers so I can only imagine what he'll do with the tree and ornaments. I keep telling myself "this will get easier, this will get easier, this will get easier" but so far it's still pretty trying. Wait a second! It just occurred to me that I haven't tried clicking my heals together yet. Maybe that's the answer :) Thanks for reading.

  1. A little carpet fibers never hurt anyone. Nor did dirt, leaves or whatever else he will be eating. And unforch with boys...it does NOT get easier until they are about 6! LOL

Great pics, looks like you had a fab Tgiving!
