Yes, that's a hospital bed. Last night Kevin noticed that her eye had a bunch of gunk in it. No sooner than we'd wipe it out and it was back again. I knew it had to be pink eye. We did a warm compress and soon after she went to bed. At 1AM she was up and freaking out because she couldn't open her eye. We did another warm compress and calmed her down but she tossed and turned most of the night. I was finally able to doze off only to get a 6am wake up call from Talan. I might have slept for an hour last night....but that's pushing it.
I know that there isn't much the doctors can do for her but I also knew that if it was bacterial that the sooner we could get her on an antibiotic, the sooner she'd be back in school. So off to urgent care we went! They did a culture but we probably won't know the results until we follow-up with her primary care doctor. Either way they gave her meds that will help to clear it up. She's highly contagious so she'll be out of school until Wednesday.
Talan had a rough day as well. He's got two more teeth coming in up top and they are really making him miserable. He's had a low grade fever and runny nose all day long. As I sit here typing I can still hear him tossing and turning. He sleeps for about an hour at a time and then spends a few minutes whimpering. Poor dude really hasn't had a break from teething in a couple of months.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day but with two kids home and both not feeling well I won't be holding my breath. Off to bed (although it probably won't be for long!).
