Spring Has Sprung

This week has been the first of the year that we've had consecutive days of sunshine and warm weather. It has been fantastic! We took complete advantage by skipping the bus and we hopping on bikes instead. Just about every other kid in school had the same great idea! People definitely came out of hibernation this week to enjoy the outdoors. Unfortunately Talan came down with a virus on Tuesday so that put a damper on an otherwise good week but he got over it quickly. He spiked 102/103 fever and we couldn't get it to budge. We tried Tylenol and a lukewarm bath, neither of which worked. He started to get extremely lethargic and couldn't even lift his head at which point I started to worry. We put several calls into the doctor, none of which were returned. They aren't concerned until it hits 105. 105?!? Sorry, but I refuse to wait that long. The day went on and Talan went downhill so at 5:30, when the doctor still hadn't called, Kevin packed him up and went into the office. They gave him a hard time but he pretty much told them that he wasn't leaving until Talan was seen so they finally fit him in. "It's just a virus. Treat it with Tylenol". The usual. I figured as much but I couldn't be positive. What if it had been H1N1 or something else more serious? That's what would have been running through my head all night. He woke up feeling better the next day and is back to 100% today. We're hoping this weather sticks around. From what I hear, snowstorms in April aren't unheard of. I pray it's not true. I promise you I'd start packing.
