If you know me (and hopefully you do if you're reading this....no freakish stalkers allowed up in here!), you know that I have a hard time getting through a poopy diaper without heaving. Poop is not my favorite thing. Well, what happened yesterday was straight out of a nightmare. I'm going to spare you all the full story but let's just say that about 4 pounds of poop ended up not only up Talan's back and down his legs but also made it between his toes and all over his feet. And remember people, he is eating solids now so it's thick & nasty these days. I picked him up and had one of those "what the crap am I going to do now?" moments. I literally just stood there, frozen, dangling a poo covered baby for a good two minutes; long enough for him to land two giant poopy footprints on my white shirt. At that point I just started running for the bathtub. Trying to hold onto him and get the water going was quite a challenge but I did it. Just as I started thinking that I was going to get through it he started kicking....and leaving more poopy footprints in his wake, this time all over my tub. I was washing him down and dry heaving at the site of the little flecks of feces floating in the water. I had to rinse him first and then refill the water twice to get it all off of him. From there I laid him on the floor and took care of myself and the clean-up. It was terrible.
A few weeks ago I promised a friend (who happens to be my super awesome hair dresser) that I would help her out by doing her wedding favors. Of course this is the week that I had to make good on that promise. Guess what I had to do for three hours last night after Talan's explosion? Chocolate dipped pretzels. Yes folks, I had to sit in front of a big pot of melted chocolate, reliving the poopy nightmare with each dip. It was rough. Three days, a few pounds of chocolate, 240 pretzels, and a super huge backache later and I finished them. Here is the final result (minus the brown ribbons that I have yet to attatch):
I think they turned out pretty cute. I'm glad that I could help her out but I'm also really glad that I'm finished with that project. It was a lot of work!
Reese comes home tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited! I have missed her like crazy. The rest of this month will be really busy for her. She has her High School Musical camp all week next week. The following week we find out who her teacher will be and the week after that is start of Kindergarten. Where did this summer go? Speaking of time and how it flies, I'll leave you all with a video of Talan. He's growing and changing daily. I could eat him up!!!!
The pretzels turned out great!
