I've been slacking big in the blog department. Fortunately, I have accomplished quite a bit otherwise. Reese got home last Friday (almost a week ago already!). I captured her homecoming on video. I knew she missed us but didn't realize how much she was missing Talan until I saw her come through the door. You'll see what I mean when you watch. While she was away she came up with a new nickname. For the first time ever she called him "brother". She still threw in a "buddy" and "Tal" which we've heard plenty of. So cute.
No more than 5 minutes after she walked in the door she was asking to get on her bike for a reunion with the neighborhood kids. They had been at the door at least three times a day ("ding-donging" as Reese calls it) asking for her since we got home. She's been keeping busy and wearing herself out every day. This week was the start of High School Musical Camp. She's having an absolute blast. Yesterday was Wacky Hair Day and today was Team Spirit & Water Wars Day. Tomorrow is Super Hero Day. You'll have to wait for pictures to see the costume I made for her. I'm so anxious to get through the next two days so that we can finally see her perform on Friday.
Here are a couple of photos:

And a video:
Talan is six months old today. I cannot believe that a half a year has already passed since his birth. He's getting close to sitting up on his own. He still tends to bend forward, in half, or fall to the side but he's getting stronger every day. He's also pulling his knees up underneath him when on his belly. He's changing way too quickly. We moved him to stage 2 baby food and he's eating at least 3 jars a day. This is in addition to the same amount of milk that he's always had. The kid is a machine. He is still not a huge fan of the bottle. I had to run out with Reese today and he decided his was hungry. While I was gone they tried giving him a bottle but he wasn't having it so they resorted to a sippy cup. The bottle may soon be a thing of the past.

Think the kid likes to eat?
Outside of keeping up with Reese we have been trying to accomplish some house projects. We had new carpet installed in our front living room and moved around some furniture. I stole the furniture from Kevin's man cave (aka the basement) to upstairs and switched it with what was upstairs. It changed the look and feel of the entire house. The front room is the first thing you see when you come into the house and is the first impression. I love it!
My parents are here through Friday. They couldn't leave without seeing Reese's first acting gig. As much as they love the kids I am sure they are ready for some downtime after almost a month with them & us. We called in a babysitter and are going to go on a double date with them tomorrow night. Looking forward to that and to a couple more days with them. When they leave, we'll have less than two weeks to soak up the summer before Reese starts school. I feel like I've been living life with a fast forward button on these past few months. It's hard to believe that we're already 5 days into August. Sometimes I wish I could make time stand still. This is one of those times. Thanks for reading.
So, where's the photo of the living room re-do?
