So today was the day. One too many people called my sweet baby boy a girl so I knew that it was time for a haircut. I knew I made the right decision when I walked into the kid's cuts shop and they said "awe, she is so cute". She was wearing a skull and crossbones shirt with basketball shorts. Sort of like when Reese didn't have hair as a toddler and even when dressed in the most frou-frou, ruffled, pink get-up she was still mistaken for a boy.
Anyway, I walked in and sat him down in the fun car seat. The woman who cut his hair asked me if he was okay with putting a cape on. I assured her that he was fine and said "Oh, he's fine. He's super easy going.". No sooner did I get that out of my mouth and he was hysterically crying and clawing his way out of the chair. I think it was because his arms were caught underneath and it freaked him out. Then again, maybe he was scared of losing his "Justin Bieber hair".
They were so patient with him and made sure he was comfortable before cutting off his beautiful little curly locks. I was adamant about having her leave some length. Hair or no hair the kid is just precious. I did, however, get a little choked up upon seeing the final outcome. He looks so different! A little older, perhaps? I'll miss his little mullet of curls but the good news is that we can bring back the faux hawk.
We came home and spent the beautiful afternoon in the sunshine. He spent the first 20 minutes checking out his reflection in the sliding glass doors. He was probably wondering who the heck it was staring back at him. Check out little dude:
