Last night was the longest consecutive stretch that Talan has slept. He was asleep by 7:30 and didn't wake up until close to 5am. So stoked! He has gone that long without eating in the past but not sleeping without waking up. We have had to go in to give him his paci at least once during the night. Not last night. All on his own. Unfortunately we may be in for a rough ride. Tomorrow morning is his abdominal ultrasound...at FIVE THIRTY in the morning! They do the appointments that early because his last meal has to be four hours before the procedure. Initially I thought I'd just wake him around 1am to get some food into him so that he isn't starving before the appointment. But after a successful night of sleep last night I hate to mess that up by waking him in the midst of a deep sleep. I've decided that I am going to take a chance and not wake him. I am dreading it because I know that when he does get up, be it 3, 4, or even 5, he will be so ready to eat. And you don't know an irate baby until you've seen Talan hungry. I can barely sit down and get situated before he is screaming and red in the face because I am not fast enough for him. It will be worth the screams tomorrow in the long run. I don't want to screw up the sleep schedule after working so hard to get here.
I am praying that I get the test results immediately or at least sometime throughout the day. I am confident that he is fine but it will be awesome to know for certain. If you are an early riser, please keep him in your thoughts at the crack of dawn tomorrow. His reward for waiting until 6am for breakfast will be a new veggie tomorrow. I'm thinking squash :). Thanks for reading.
Stacie, that is so wonderful that he slept that long! Woo Hoo
ReplyDeleteHe is in my prayers and I hope you are home now with some results from the ultrasound. ((HUGS))
