We have had a busy, busy few days; hence the lack of blogging. On Friday night my parents arrived so we spent most of our day in anticipation of that. Saturday was recital day. I feel like the day flew by because before I knew it we were in a mad rush to get out of the door. In true
Griswald Branton fashion we forgot something. Something very important:

Daddy to the rescue! Fortunately the shoe had just fallen out of her ballet bag and it was sitting in the bottom of the closet. He got there in plenty of time and saved the day. The recital was precious. I was so proud of how well she and the rest of the girls did! After three years in dance and three recitals Reese has decided that she needs a break from dance. She would like to go back into gymnastics but we’re going to wait until after the summer camp madness and get into the swing of things with Kindergarten before I let her (and her chaffer!) take on anything else. Here are a few pics from before and after the recital:

Afterwards with us:

With Nana & Sophia & Olivia:

On Sunday we attended Julia’s baptism. Kevin & I were asked to be her Godparents so it was a very special day for us. She’s wearing the baptismal gown that Heather & I, our Moms, my brothers, her sister, Olivia, Sophia, and Reese all wore. It’s more than 90 years old. I’d love for Talan to carry on the tradition next month when he is baptized but I doubt we could fit his pinkie finger through the armholes! He would go Incredible Hulk on that thing and bust out of it.

The ceremony was beautiful and we had a great time at brunch afterwards. You never know what you’re going to get when you brave a restaurant with three rambunctious girls. They were really well behaved and the food was fabulous.
Today I will be working to burn off all of the calories I ate; also on the agenda today - the start of Safety Town. Reese was so excited! Not only does she get to ride to and from S.T. with her buddy, Cody (a.k.a. the boy who cried "butthog"), but it’s also an hour & a half away from Mom! I got there to drop her off this morning and to get them situated and we were shown into a waiting room. Eventually the Moms started to file out but I hadn’t noticed. Reese tapped me on the back and said “Hey Mom, all of the other Moms are leaving. I think it’s time for you to get going”. Excuuuuuuuuuse me for sticking around for 30 seconds too long! Here they are in their little shirts and nametags:

Look how tiny Reese looks! Her shirt was around her ankles so I had to tie it up for her. I can’t wait to hear all about how it went. I’m sure she’s having a blast. Thanks for reading!
