If you're wondering why there hasn't been a post in days....here's why.
Friday - we took the girls into downtown Chicago for an afternoon at Navy Pier.

Reese & Emma were so excited to ride the ferris wheel

...and the carousel

I think it's safe to say that we wore them out. Talan was sleeping too but his seat is backwards facing so you'll just have to imagine his sweet little face.

We got home and it was a mad rush to cook up all of our delish apps for the cocktail party we had. A few neighborhood friends came by. There ended up being 10 kids running around like maniacs...and that's not including the few who heard the chaos and walked over to join in. Fortunately it was a nice night so they were mostly outside. It was so much fun to cook with Meilina! We used to do this kind of thing quite a bit when we were two doors down from each other.

We took the day off on Saturday and decided to spend the day in PJs. Meilina made her famous Chicken Parm. It was SOOOOOOOOOO good!

On Sunday we awoke to a gorgeous day. When we finally got everyone ready and out the door we headed into downtown Naperville for a picnic at Rotary Hill. The girls had a blast running up and down the hill. Emma was so excited to roll down (and did so several times!).

After that we headed over to the Heller's for a shrimp boil. Shrimp, potatoes, corn, sausage....YUM. I ate until I couldn't possibly take another bite.

Emma was very excited to meet Olivia & Sophia. They all got along great and wore themselves out running around the yard. Proof of that fact? We got home and the girls were in bed and asleep before 8PM.

This morning was rough. Reese had to tell Emma goodbye early morning before I dropped her off at school. I had to take Emma & Meilina to the airport and then headed home to pick up Reese. The drive back was so somber. I loved having them here. The house feels very empty right now. Reese keeps asking me how many more days it will be until Emma comes back. She's pretty devastated. I can feel her pain.....I hated to let Meilina go as well. I'm off to nurse our broken hearts. We love you girls! Thank you so much for an awesome week. It was the best ever. Bible.
I love the picture of the girls snoozin in the car! Sooooo cute!!!
