Going Green

For two days now Kevin and I have been working on a revamp of the basement. We've got it split into two section, one for the kids and one for us. We decided to start with their side. I've had it pretty much gutted since Reese's birthday but up until now haven't had the time (or energy for that matter) to get started. The paint down there is quite obviously the original paint and was in dire need of a face lift. We went with green to cover the doo doo yellow. It took quite a bit to cover it so that's as far as we've gotten thus far. Tomorrow the shelving goes up and from there I'll work to pull it all together. We decided to play a little trick on Reese yesterday. When Kevin went to pick her up at the bus stop he started in on her asking why she would do something so crazy in the basement. She didn't have a clue what he was talking about and kept insisting that she was innocent. He opened the door to the basement and pointed down the stairs. This is what she saw: She's so used to us and our jokes that it barely phased her! She just said "Yea right Dad, Mommy did that!". Last night was the last PTA skating party so Reese and I decided to go. She wore her cool Snoopy skate shirt for the occasion. I always get super nostalgic when we go to the rink, thinking back to how much fun I used to have as a kid. Shoot, who am I kidding? I still have a blast out there. Talan has finally decided to give up crawling. He's up and walking 90% of the time as of late last week. He's getting much more steady on his feet and seems to be so proud of himself. He may make it down the aisle in July after all! Here's my little cutie patootie in action:
