Talan has had a really good day. He is now all the way off of the oxygen and they have been decreasing the fluids coming through the IV. The IV should come out tonight and we're very hopeful that he will be released tomorrow. I've been pumping and sending down bottles for him and today he has done well with two feedings and they are feeding him again now. All in all he has done great and his doctors are happy. Reese was able to come back to see him this afternoon. That was the highlight of my day. She is just so excited that he's here and was so gentle and loving. She must've said "I love you so much" ten times while she was back there. It was very sweet.
Today was a good day for me too. They removed my catheter this morning and my IV this afternoon. I had my first meal at lunch and felt so much better after getting that into my system. I've been able to get up and into the bathroom on my own but can't push the walking much further than that. I feel much more sore this time around than I did last time. I waited a little too long to take pain meds today and ended up in excruciating pain for about an hour.
Kevin is hanging in there also. He's sleeping on a fold out chair that might as well be the floor. It's definitely not 5-star accommodations ;) He was able to go down and feed Talan this afternoon and got to change a big old poopy diaper. We're about to have dinner together and watch a movie on the laptop. Hopefully tonight flies and we'll have him here with us tomorrow.
