Two Days

We're finally here.....the final stretch. I am so anxious, nervous, excited, etc. that I am practically jumping out of my skin. These next 48 hours cannot go by fast enough. My parents arrived on Sunday evening to help out which has been great. I'm sitting here typing in my PJs being that they have gone to pick up Reese from school and are running my usual errands today. I'm so grateful to have some down time. I haven't been getting much sleep at all. Last night was a better night than most but the night before I don't think I got more than 10 or 15 minutes at a time. It made for a rough day. I had my last pre-surgery doctor's appointment. I was shocked to find out that I am still only 1cm dialated. No change at all from last week. I can tell you that the following old wives tales do NOT work when it comes to inducing labor: eggplant, pineapple, exercise, foot massage. I feel very prepared this time around. I think I shot myself in the foot by doing so much so early. Now it's just a sit and wait game. I almost wish I had a few things to do so that time would go by a bit more quickly. His room has been finished for a few weeks now, clothes have been washed, diapers unpacked, house clean (well, fairly clean), and bags packed. Now I just need a baby! Reese is very excited. She runs down every morning to check the white board on the fridge for the latest countdown. We've got one going for baby and one for her birthday. I am not quite sure which is more exciting to her. She has just come down with a nasty cold. I'm hoping that she's better by Thursday and that we can avoid spreading it to anyone else in the family between now and then. That's all we need! I look so forward to watching her meet him for the first time and hold him in her arms. She doesn't know it yet but the baby has already done some shopping for his big sister, too. He's got to get into her good graces quickly. I'm still wondering how she'll react to sharing the spotlight. Thanks to all of you who have shared in our journey. I hope to update this site frequently with news and photos rather than inundating your inbox. We love you and can't wait to introduce you to our newest addition.
