Meet the Grandparents

Talan has had a big second week of life. Kevin's parents came into town on Friday and stayed through Monday and met him for the first time. They were here to witness his first sponge bath. As you'll see in the video below, he wasn't a big fan of the bath. They got to hear a "Reeseism" first hand when she commented during the bath that I was doing a good job "washing his poop". Yes folks, she's still talking about it. I should have used that opportunity to give her the anatomy lesson that she's in dire need of but the paparazzi were in the bathroom with us. Six people and three cameras? Yea, not really looking to have the conversation right at that moment. The video cuts off just as she was about to say it. I'm bummed that we missed it in our video but I think Kevin's dad caught it all on tape.
Tal slept in his crib for the first time last night. He did great but I'm not surprised. He's still on the same schedule; up once a night between 10 and 6/7. I can't complain. I'm wondering how things will be next week when my parents leave. They have been a God send. Cooking, cleaning, playing with and taking care of Reese, etc. They have truly done it all. So next week will be the true test. Hopefully I'll survive it! I'm going to do a test run on Thursday. I'll wake up and see how it is to manage Talan and getting Reese ready for and off to school. She is the queen of lolly gagging so I know it'll be a challenge. This morning she said she had to use the bathroom. Ten minutes later and she was still in there staring at herself in the mirror. She's a mess. This past weekend Kevin and I took time out to have a date night. I've been craving sushi for ten months so that is what we had. It was delish and we had such a wonderful evening. We were only gone for a couple of hours but it was enough to rejuvenate both of us. Again, thank goodness for the extra help otherwise we never could have done that.
Reese is with my parents at ballet and Talan is chillin' in his swing so I'm going to sign off and enjoy this moment. I know that in a few days they will be far and few between.

  1. Super cute video and pictures! Now I heard you talking but I only saw your back. In the picture with the babies sleeping, your head is down. How do I know for sure it's you?
