We Made It!

It's been two days now, just the four of us, and we're still alive and kicking! We've even been able to leave the house and get back in one piece. Yesterday we went on our first family outing to Target. I had a cabinet FULL of diapers before we came home from the hospital. We blew threw them so quickly. You truly forget what it's like having an infant. At least I did (in my defense, it has been five years so I have a bit of an excuse). We had to run out to replenish the supply of diapers, to get more burp clothes (b/c you really can't have too many), and to pick up a few more odds and ends. It snowed a few inches early Saturday morning so the weather was terrible but we braved the cold and did great! Kevin & I make a really good team so it ended up being easier than we had both expected. Today we ventured out again to go to church. Talan slept through almost the entire outing. He woke up briefly and then fell back asleep, waking up as we pulled into the driveway. Kevin took Reese to a birthday party yesterday afternoon. She had a blast! I stayed here with Talan and gave him a much needed bath. I wish I could have taken one too! I miss baths like crazy. 4 weeks to go before I'll be soaking in the tub again. When K & R got home from the party we put the kids down and enjoyed some much needed alone time. Kevin bought a really nice bottle of champagne for Valentine's Day so we were able to sip on that. We had been wanting to try a bottle with Talan anyway so I took advantage of the 100's of ounces I have saved up in the freezer. It was kind of nice to have the night off. This morning we let Reese feed and burp him. She was so proud of herself! Speaking of Reese, she's done so well this weekend. I was nervous about how she would do after having had so much undivided attention these past few weeks. She is a little rockstar. So tomorrow is day one of getting Reese off to school. I'm not as nervous about it now as I was a few days ago. I'm more nervous about getting things done around the house. When it's cluttered and not at it's best I tend to panic a little. I'm going to try to get most of the laundry done today and I'm sure a lot will just not get done at all. I guess I'll just need to learn to live with that. Off to start on those chores. Thanks for reading! Reese ready for Ally's Princess Party: Our beautiful babies: Had to share these two videos from yesterday morning: Reese singing to Talan (notice the head bow at the end) Reese jamming out to her iPod (and again with the head bow)
