Josh flew in last night and we've had such a good time with him. Today was another gorgeous day so we decided to spend it outdoors. Our deck pool attracted a bunch of neighborhood kids so Reese had a blast surrounded by friends. This afternoon we had the Hellers over for burgers, hotdogs, potato salad, grilled corn on the cob, and baked beans. Deeeeeelish! The girls had fun in the backyard and of course in the pool.
Poor Kevin has had it rough these past couple of days. What should have been a quick and easy 15 minute procedure ended up his worst nightmare. He was in there for over an hour. To avoid going into too much graphic detail (very unlike me!) I'll just say this....the doctor had to dig in his junk for 20 minutes TWICE to find what he was looking for. He said he's done thousands of procedures and can practically perform them in his sleep and has never come across anything like what happened with Kevin. The poor guy. He's been a good sport and is finally starting to feel a little bit better. Funny exert from his experience; he said that while the nurse was shaving him in preparation, she tried to talk sports with him! "So, how 'bout them Cubs?" Too funny.
Uncle Josh finally got to meet Talan. Look at all of those blue eyes!
Reese is loving having him here. She couldn't wait to wake him up this morning (at 7am!). He was a good sport and got up to start the day with her. He's took off this evening to spend the night in Chicago with some friends. We're definitely not exciting enough for his taste. I am 33 now....old fuddy duddy.
Before he left, Uncle Josh helped Reese brush up those biking skills. She's doing really well with it and can ride down about five houses before she pulls off into the grass. She can't get going by herself yet and can't stop without running off into the grass but she gets better every day. And now, for your viewing pleasure:
