Talan has had a bruise on his head from the second he learned to crawl. He is a maniac. The black & blue hues have become a permanent fixture on the little man's face. One bruise heals and there is another on the sidelines waiting to rear it's ugly head. "No Fear" is the understatement of the century. He, honest to God, doesn't have any concept of consequences. He doesn't get gravity. At all. He will pull himself upright and feel so proud. His pride gets the best of him and it's like he forgets that he is still Gumby and will let go of whatever it is that he is holding on to which results in a face plant into the nearest object (or the floor).
Today he lost his battle with gravity in a big way. He was pulling himself up using our kitchen chairs. He lost his grip and his hand slipped so his head went slamming, full force, into the corner of the leg of the chair. Instant goose egg. It was painful to watch. Reese, Kevin, & I all "puckered" (if you know what I mean). We tried to reduce the swelling with ice but that just upset him more so the end result is an enormous, golf ball sized, black-and-blue, bump on his head.

Perfect timing (per usual) for our holiday visit with the family.
ouch! Those goose eggs are scary looking aren't they?
