It's been a busy few days so I have to flashback to Thursday for this update. I have to be cryptic because I signed something saying that I wouldn't blog about my experience. For that reason, I'll refer to the person who's name starts with an "O" and rhymes with Hope-bra as O. My morning started at 4am. I had to get ready quickly because three friends and I had to be ready to head into downtown Chicago at 5am. A week earlier I got an exciting email, letting me know that I was the lucky recipient of four spots in the studio audience. They don't usually reveal what the topic is until you are there so we were anxious to know what and who we'd be seeing.
Two years ago Heather and I went in for a taping so I knew what to expect when we got there. It's a lot of sit and wait. We were in line outside (thank goodness it had warmed up to the 30's) for an hour. At 7am they shuffled us into another waiting area and we sat there until 8:45. Finally it was time to go in and tape. They give you a sheet of paper with a number on it. You're sent into the studio by number.....unless you're lucky and they call your group by name. We were one of the lucky ones and were called in early and placed in the reserved seats in the 3rd row. Watch on the 26th to see if you can spot us! We were seated in the section right behind O.
I was really hoping for a show full of freebies but that didn't happen. Instead we were there for a show on infidelity. I was super excited when they announced that Denise Richards would be interviewed. I watched her reality show, It's Complicated, so I loved that she was there with her Dad, Irv. She's teeny tiny in real life. I wanted to give her a sandwich! The second guest was not so exciting. Ted Haggard. Google it if you want to know more about him. I'm not going to waste my time typing about that schmuck.
I thought this was O's last season but found out that she's taping through '11. That means I can try to go one more time before she's done. Mom, you better not turn me down next time.....
Now onto Friday. The kids had no school so I was left to keep them entertained. Well, actually, I'm not sure who entertained who. They requested Lady Gaga makeovers. I happily obliged.
