WHO DAT?!?!

I'm going to attempt a blog right now although I can barely type through my tear filled eyes and residual shakes. I am BEYOND excited about the Saints' big win tonight. I am about the furthest from a football fanatic as you get but I'll rally when it's a team that I'm passionate about and being born a Boudreaux means that you're born a Saints fan. Unfortunately, we have to follow most games via post-game update because they don't air here and they didn't air in Seattle. But tonight? Holy crawdads!!!!! The....best....game....ever. We channeled New Orleans from the time we woke up this morning. Before we went to bed last night we started on our beignet dough. It sat overnight and this morning Kevin rolled it out and let it rise. And then we dropped them Powdered them Plated them And ate them To say they were delicious would be doing them no justice at all. They were superb! It brought me right back to Cafe Du Monde. Sipping my Cafe Au Late and loving my heritage. What I also love? The fact that my hubs has completely embraced everything Boudreaux. I am lady luck. For real. After stuffing our faces full of fried dough, we packed up and headed to church. I have to admit, I did throw in a little prayer for the Saints. I know it's not right but I did it anyway. I'm ashamed (but it worked). The kids have been angels all weekend long. We have had such a great time with them. As a little reward, we went out for ice cream. It was a first for Talan. Do I even have to tell you that he loved it? Duh. Our dinner was superb. Fried shrimp Po-boys, red beans & rice, and mirliton casserole. It was Divine. Knowing now that the Saints are going to be playing in the Superbowl, my food game play has changed. No more filling up before it starts. I felt like I was going to hurl the entire game!!!!! Between jumping up and down, screaming at the top of my lungs, and my stomach being in knots, I was honestly about to blow chunks for 4 hours straight. Dear New Orleans, You deserve this! It's been 43 years in the making. As a city you stood strong after Katrina and worked to rebuild. The game today was played in the same place that was used as an evacuation shelter just four short years ago. You deserved the win today and another on February 7th. There is nothing like the South and there is nothing like that Who Dat Nation! GEAUX SAINTS!!!!
