Surprise!

Early this morning Reese, Talan & I boarded a plane and flew to Tennessee to surprise my Gram. She had NO idea we were coming or that she'd be meeting her great grandson for the very first time. It was awesome. We pulled up to the house and snuck onto the back porch. My Mom told her that I was on the phone and wanted to talk. When she walked out and reached for the phone, out came Reese. Talan & I followed a few seconds later. She was overjoyed. Talan was mesmerized by her and sat in her arms and stared into her eyes for quite a while. He was so content. I can remember Reese & her "Mootsie" having the same kind of instant connection when they first met. It was beautiful to watch.
The flight over went much better than I had anticipated. It was actually a breeze. We got right through security and boarded the plane with no issues. I barely even broke into a sweat! Shocker. Talan woke up about 20 minutes into the hour long flight but only smiled and cooed. Not a single peep out of him otherwise. And Reese? She was awesome. Such a big help and listened so well. That is really what made it so easy. She only embarrassed me once. After landing and on the way to our gate, someone let a stink bomb slip. I knew Reese would smell it and have a comment so I sat and waited for the comedy. "MOM, I smell a toot! Pee-U! It stinks. Someone tooted and I think I know who it was. It was.....". I cut her off there. She was turning around in her seat to point to whomever she was about to accuse of tooting and I caught her just in time. Comedy I tell ya!!!! Once the day wore on the fatigue set in and she had a much harder time behaving. She earned herself a time-out and in protest decided that she's strip down to her skivvies. Made for a very cute photo opp :)
We're in town visiting through Tuesday. Very short trip but soooooo worth it. Even if today had been a nightmare, the look on my Gram's face was worth anything and everything. And knowing my luck, the trip home will be a mess. Payback for the ease I experienced today....I'd bet money on that one. Thanks for reading.
