Sometimes I feel like I could write 10 times a day. Lately, I just haven't had much to say. I think that could be partially due to the fact that I don't have my camera. A lot of times I am taking photos and that leads to a story or thought. Kevin went on a site visit to the Tennessee ghetto. He had to appraise an apartment building that looked like a war zone. There was graffiti and trash everywhere. Some of the apartments still had toys, unopened diapers, furniture.... only there was a big wall missing and it had been
vandalized and ransacked; like whoever lived there just knew to get the h-e-double hockey sticks out of dodge.... and quick like! Anyway, I digress. He was at this poor excuse for an apartment building and tripped over something, fell, and broke the digital. My parents were kind enough to offer up one of theirs until we can figure out a solution but until I get that we're out of luck. I have to rely on Kevin's iPhone. Hard to do when he takes it with him to work every day. Poop on a stick.
Today has been a tough one. Reese woke up on the wrong side of the bed so the morning was hectic. I got her off to school and then met some friends until I had to pick her up.
Talan upchucked on Jen's floor a good five or six times and was uncharacteristically fussy. The fussiness never let up. Reese got home and I thought a walk to the park sounded nice (it's beautiful outside today). We got about three blocks away and I heard a gun shot. I ducked and ran for cover only to discover that
Naperville is just as safe as I thought it to be. It wasn't a pistol, it was the tire on my brand new stroller. Popped. I was left to walk home trying to push that thing on it's rim with two screaming kids; one disappointed because the trip to the park wasn't going to happen
after all and the other because who-knows-why.
And now here I sit.
Talan is
finally asleep and I was able to redeem myself a bit in Reese's eyes with an afternoon movie on the couch. Alvin, Simon, and Theodore to the rescue! Phew. A few more hours to get through before I can go back to bed and wake up with a fresh start. Looking forward to that! Thanks for reading.
