Flowers From Heaven

Reese often comes to me with odd questions or comments. Our conversations usually start with her query, leading to my confusion, and ending with her getting really frustrated because she can't understand why I don't get it. Today she asked "how many more days until God gives us roses?". Huh?!?!? I had to sit on that one for a while before figuring out what she meant. We had a conversation about Easter Sunday yesterday. We talked about Easter being not about the Easter Bunny, egg hunts, and baskets full of goodies but about the true meaning. Kevin and I explained that Easter is a holiday honoring Jesus and how he rose from the dead. So there you have it. Jesus rising from the dead somehow became God handing out roses. I gave myself a big pat on the back for solving the Reeseism in less than 5 minutes. Record time. Really though, most of what she says makes a lot of sense. When we were visiting Florida for the wedding last weekend she was in awe of all of the "sound shoes" she was seeing. I had to explain to a few of the sound shoe wearin' ladies that she was referring to the high heels. Clickity-clack, clickity-clack, clickity-clack. Shoes that make sound. Genious! Although she has a couple of pairs of shoes without heels that still make a sound and has dubbed them her sound shoes as well so they don't necessarily have to have a heel, just a sound. One of my favorite Reeseisms of all time is "lasterday". Lasterday refers to anything that happened sometime before today. She has almost grown out of this one which makes me a little drizzly in the eyes. I have grown fond of that one. Really though, doesn't lasterday make more sense than yesterday? I think so. These days, if it happened before today she'll usually say it happened "last night". Doesn't matter if it was yesterday morning.....it was "last night" as far as she's concerned. She is such a character. I look forward to hearing what she'll come up with next. Thanks for reading :)
